The Melexis DVK90642 development kit is a ready-to-use solution that demonstrates privacy-friendly people detection using thermal infrared technology. At the kit's core is the MLX90642, a 32 × 24-pixel thermal sensor that enables accurate detection, counting, and localization of individuals in indoor environments without relying on visual imagery, ensuring complete anonymity. This Melexis kit includes a precompiled, machine-learning-based algorithm that works out of the box, with no additional training or calibration required.
Applications include confined indoor environments, elevator management and safety, smart building and office management, and energy optimization.
